AEW Revolution 2023 was the fourth annual pay-per-view event produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The event took place on March 5, 2023, at Chase Center in San Francisco, California, and featured nine matches, including one on the pre-show.
The main event saw MJF retain the AEW World Championship by defeating Bryan Danielson in sudden death overtime of a 60-minute Iron man match. Other notable matches included The Gunns retaining their AEW World Tag Team Championship and “Hangman” Adam Page defeating Jon Moxley in a Texas Death match.
AEW announced the event in November 2022, with tickets going on sale in December. In the weeks leading up to the event, AEW broadcasted live shows from the nearby Cow Palace. AEW also partnered with Joe Hand Promotions to broadcast Revolution in select theaters, bars, and restaurants across North America.
The matches at Revolution were based on pre-existing feuds and storylines, with wrestlers portraying heroes, villains, or other characters.
Storylines were developed on AEW’s weekly television programs, Dynamite and Rampage, as well as on the online streaming shows, Dark and Elevation.
The main event of Revolution featured a feud between MJF and Bryan Danielson, with MJF retaining his title after Danielson failed to win all of his singles matches in a one-month period.
The Gunns retained their AEW World Tag Team Championship, and “Hangman” Adam Page defeated Jon Moxley in a Texas Death match. These matches were the culmination of ongoing storylines developed on AEW’s weekly programming.
